Joseph C. "Butch" Franko Jr., 64, of Tamaqua, passed away Dec. 21 at his son's residence where he resided.

Born in Pottsville, Nov. 11, 1946, he was a son of the late Joseph and Marie A. Gallagher Franko. He was a graduate of Nativity BVM High School.

He worked as a laborer for the former Pottsville Bleach and Dye Co. and in other local manufacturing companies.

Surviving are a son, Joseph C. Franko III and his wife, Marie, Tamaqua; a daughter, Michelle "Shelly," wife of Joseph Delpais, Schuylkill Haven; three grandchildren, Kyle and Carissa Delpais and Lucas Franko; a great-granddaughter, Alli Delpais; and a great-grandson, Bryce Delpais; and his former wife of 38 years, Evelyn Williams Franko, Brockton.

Funeral arrangements will be at the convenience of the family. Thomas J. Bartashus Funeral Home, New Philadelphia, is in charge of arrangements.
