Mary Catherine Flannery, 56, of 2034 Walnut St., Ashland, passed away peacefully on Saturday at home with her husband, Michael, at her side.
She was a daughter of the late Hubert J. and Catherine J. Furlong Wolfe.
She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Ashland.
She graduated from Mahanoy Area High School, Class of 1972. She continued her education in the licensed practical nurse field and achieved her LPN designation. She was last employed by Progressive Surgical Institute as a surgical scheduling coordinator.
Mary Catherine was past-president and a member of Ashland Area Rotary Club and while serving as president, received the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Award.
She was formerly a member of Ashland Borough Council and a member of Ashland Elks BPOE 384.
Surviving are her loving husband, Michael Flannery, Ashland; two sisters, Jule Ann, wife of Francis Menne, Ashland, and Regina Wolfe, Mahanoy Plane; nieces and nephews, Jared and Michael Menne, Ashland, Tip Flannery, Philadelphia, Meg Flannery, New York, Maura Denenberg, wife of Alan Denenberg, Philadelphia, Matthew Flannery and Mickey Flannery, both of Media, John Flannery, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Mary Grace Flannery, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. John W. Bambrick officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass on Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Frackville. Memorial contributions can be made to Hillside SPCA, P.O.
