Donald Duffy, 84, of Hillcroft Avenue, Schuylkill Haven, passed away peacefully Tuesday at Rest Haven, Schuylkill Haven.

Born in Minersville, Feb. 28, 1928, he was a son of the late Charles and Doris Moore Duffy.

He was a graduate of Minersville High School and Moravian College, Bethlehem.

He was employed as an industrial engineer.

He was an Army veteran serving during World War II.

Donald was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minersville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Edmund Duffy; and sisters, Nancy Dabrowny and Sally Schreffler.

Surviving are his wife, Joan C. Warner Duffy; a daughter, Donna, wife of David Boch, Flemington, N.J.; a son, Charles "Casey" Duffy and his wife, Barbara, Danville, Ky.; a sister; Patricia Moerder, Llewellyn; brothers, Ronald Duffy, Minersville, and David Duffy, Ringtown Valley; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A religious service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, with Pastor Paul Schaediger officiating. Friends are invited to attend a visitation from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Donald's name to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, 1700 Hawk Mountain Road, Kempton, PA 19529, and will be accepted at the funeral home the morning of the service. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, is entrusted with the arrangements.
