Wayne R. Kamp, 86, of New Ringgold, died Saturday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.

He was the husband of Ruth A. Bensinger Kamp, to whom he was married to for 67 years.

Wayne was born in New Ringgold, and was a son of the late Franklin C. and Mabel A. Leiby Kamp.

Wayne worked as a tow motor operator for 25 years for Reading Tube, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Drehersville (Salem U.M.) Church.

Wayne was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He was a life member of the Hamburg Fish and Game Association, life member of the Community Fire Company, New Ringgold and served for 48 years on the New Ringgold Borough Council, many of those as president or vice president.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Deborah Margavage, Schuylkill Haven; son, Dennis W., husband of Judy Kamp, Oxford; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Kathleen.

Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday from the Drehersville (Salem U.M.) Church, 49 Church Lane, Orwigsburg. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until noon at the church. Interment will be in Drehersville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church. Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home Inc., Hamburg, is in charge of arrangements.
