Dr. Richard H. Schietrumpf, 64, of Hometown, formerly of Mahanoy City until 1992, died Sunday in Hometown.
Born in Shenandoah, he was a son of the late Henry R. and Beatrice May Herring Schietrumpf.
He was a 1967 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School, a 1971 graduate of Penn State and a 1975 graduate of Temple University.
Dr. Schietrumpf had a dental practice in Hometown.
He was a former member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where he served as the youth group advisor.
He was a former member of Tamaqua School Board.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Brian Scott, in 1956.
Surviving are a sister, Susan Ritz and her husband, Jeffrey, Coplay; nieces, Rachel Quirk, San Francisco, Calif., and Kayla Quirk, Coplay; and a nephew, Kristopher Quirk and his wife, Tami, Minersville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, Tamaqua, with the Rev. Fred T. Crawford III officiating. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St., Tamaqua, PA 18252.
