Rodney Aaron Reynolds Obituary
Rodney Aaron Reynolds of Smyrna, DE, died on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his home. He was 79.

Born on October 28, 1938 in Elkton, Maryland, he was the son of the late James Corbit Reynolds, II and Gladys Insolo Reynolds.
In his younger years, he worked on the family farm until he joined the New Castle County Police Department. Mr. Reynolds was among the original 12 officers of the New Castle County Police hired. He was also a 4-H Club Leader for many years in New Castle and Kent County Delaware.

Mr. Reynolds was a former member of the Bohemia Yacht and Country Club in Hacks Point, Maryland where he enjoyed dancing with his wife. He and his wife and family spent most of their summers in Hacks Point at their summer cottage. Mr. Reynolds cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, E. Deloris Reynolds; and sister, Faye Reynolds.

He is survived by sons, A. Rodney Reynolds of Smyrna, DE, Justin W. Reynolds and companion Angela of Newark, DE, and William F. O'Neal of Clayton, DE; one daughter, Carol Lee and her husband William of Felton, DE, two brothers, James C. Reynolds, III and his wife Marie of Townsend, DE and Allen Reynolds and his wife Debbie of Clayton, DE; sisters, Shirley Staats and her husband Buster of Clayton, DE, Mary Lou Wheeler and her husband Joe Heininger of Townsend, DE; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. where friends and family may call at 10 a.m. at the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, DE. Relatives and friends may also call on Tuesday, January 17, 2018 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Interment will be in Galena Cemetery, following the service.

Flowers will be accepted but if you choose to make an in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Delaware 4-H Foundation, Inc. 113 Townsend Hall, 531 South College Avenue, Newark, DE 19716.
