Marvin Henry Schwagel, 76

Cold Spring

July 24, 1937 - August 5, 2013

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Marvin H. Schwagel, age 76, who died Monday at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by family. Inurnment will be private.

There will be a gathering of relatives and friends from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., August 9th in the Narthex of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring.

Marv was born in St. Martin, MN. to Albert and Ann (Jonas) Schwagel. He married Judith Zimmer on June 3, 1961 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waite Park, MN. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1957. Marv worked as a mechanic his entire adult life retiring from Cold Spring Granite in 2001. In retirement, he enjoyed gardening, making wine, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Judy; children, Rodney (Ann), Kelly (Kevin) Hiles, Stephen (Tia), Kristi (James) Eiler, Sonja (Keith) Torborg, and Patrick (Leslie); grandchildren, Samuel Schwagel, Stacey (Fischbach), Dale, John, Jamie & Jade Hiles, Travis, Brandon & Garrett Schwagel, Ethan & Wyatt Eiler, Isabella, Dawson & Lily Torborg, Rachel Schwagel; great grandchild, Kloey Heim; brothers, Linus and John (Doreen) Schwagel.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Terry Schwagel and LuAnn Fleischhacker.
