Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel in St. Cloud for Wanda M. Zitur, age 91 of St. Cloud who passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Gregory Lieser will officiate. Burial will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.
Wanda was born on September 6, 1921 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Henry and Margaret (Roester) Opitz. She was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII serving in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater. Wanda married Alois G. Zitur on July 16, 1946 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. She enjoyed traveling, camping and had been to Alaska several times; she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Wanda is survived by her children, Tom (Chris) of Sauk Rapids, Karen (Ralph) Hanson of Willmar, Ken (Marylou) of St. Anna and Steve (Sonja) of St. Cloud; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and brother, Max Opitz of Battle Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alois on August 22, 2010; brother, Ken "Moose" Geillinger; two sisters, Eloise Yozamp and Connie Koch.

I was so sorry to read from Joyce, that your Mom had died. I have such fond memories of her when I was married to Harry. She was a really special person and I am certain she will be dearly missed. Please surround yourself with the wonderful memories.
