Genevieve Margaret Niklaus, 85 Belgrade May 23, 1928 ~ April 18, 2014 Genevieve Margaret Niklaus, 85, of Belgrade passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, at Belgrade Nursing Home in Belgrade.  Her memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 26th at Crow River Lutheran Church, rural Belgrade. Visitation will be from 4:30-7:00 pm, Friday at Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade.  Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.       www.hafh.org Genevieve was born on May 23, 1928 to Herman and Clara (Nordlie) Anderson in Belgrade. She was baptized and confirmed at Crow River Lutheran Church. She grew up in Belgrade where she attended school and graduated in 1946. On August 20, 1950, she married the love of her life, Leander, at Crow River Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, they moved to their home in Belgrade, where they lived for the majority of their life. During this time, Genevieve was the head cook at the Belgrade school district.  She loved cooking and helping the children.  This passion continued into her home life where she enjoyed cooking a variety of delicious meals.  Genevieve also enjoyed being a grandmother, gardening and helping out at the church.  Genevieve is survived by her children: Lowell (LaVerne) Niklaus of Detroit Lakes, Steve (Sandy) Niklaus of Annandale, Joe (Anne) Niklaus of Baxter, Mary Niklaus of Halstad, Jim (Janette) Niklaus of Belgrade; daughter-in-law, Mary Niklaus of Monticello; grandchildren: Sarah, Renae, Julie, Sunnie, Stephanie, Jennifer, Aaron, Jamie, Heather, Kristy, and Jesse; 10 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are her sisters: Anna Halvorson and Lucille (Phil) Olson, both of Belgrade; sister-in-law, Mabel Sandvig of Brooten; and other family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Leander, parents, one sister, four brothers, and sons, David Niklaus and infant son Jon Niklaus.
