Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 27th at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Abbey Church in Collegeville, for Alcuin L. Eich, age 84, of Collegeville, who died on Wednesday at his home. Rev. Jerome Tupa OSB will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Friday between 4:00-8:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Parish Center in Collegeville and on Saturday morning one hour prior to services at the Church. Parish Prayers will be at 5:00 PM followed by the St. Joseph American Legion Post 328 at 6:30 PM, and the St. Joseph Lions at 7:00 PM. Funeral arrangements are being made with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph.

Alcuin was born January 7th, 1927 in Collegeville to Rupert and Catherine (Kammers) Eich. He served in the US Army. Alcuin lived in Collegeville his whole life and was employed for many years i n the construction industry in Central Minnesota. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Joseph American Legion Post 328, St. Joseph Lions, and Rice Sportsman's Club.

Alcuin loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed many trips to Canada with many of his friends. He had a true passion for his family farm in Collegeville transforming it back to natural habitat for wildlife.

Survivors include his extended family, Harvey and Carol Pfannenstein of St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Gemma, Rita and Bertha Eich, and brothers Norbert and Alanus Eich.

The family would especially like to thank Dr. Jurgens and staff at Coborn's Cancer Center, Sara with the St. Cloud Hospital Home Care, and Deb with St. Cloud Hospice Home Care.
