Bob (John Robert) Fore age 83 of Paynesville died on Sunday, March 31, 2013, at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 12, 2013, at Paynesville Lutheran Church in Paynesville. Inurnment will be at the Minnesota Sate Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls at 11:00 am on Friday April 26, 2013. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the University of Minnesota

John Robert Fore was born on July 9, 1929, in Minneapolis the son of Jacob and Margaret (Bluitt) Fore. He grew up in the Minneapolis area where he received his primary school education. His family moved to Robbinsdale in 1944, he attended high school and graduated with the class of 1947. Bob then entered the United Sates Marines where he served his country during the Korean War
. While fighting for his country he participated in the Battle of Chosin reservoir, a decisive battle in the war. On May 22, 1951, Bob was honorably discharged from the United States Marines.
On July 12, 1951, Bob was united in marriage to Kay Jones in Minneapolis. This union was blessed with a son and a daughter. The family made their home in Minneapolis. In 1958 they moved to Bloomington, and then to Cold Spring in 1981. Bob worked as a fire insurance rater for most of his life. In 1990 Bob retired. He and Kay later moved to Paynesville in 2004, where they lived until his death.
Bob was a member of the Babcock VFW
in Richfield, the Chosin Few Survivors, MSXC Radio Club, St. Cloud Stamp Club, and the Twin City Airdale Club. After Bob's retirement he enjoyed traveling, spending time with his dogs, and working on his stamp collection. He also enjoyed collecting and working with Bonsai for the past 40 years. Bob was committed to volunteering and donating his time to others especially veterans organizations.
Bob Fore died on Sunday, March 31, 2013, at the VA Medical Center in Saint Cloud. He is survived by his wife, Kay; children, William Fore of Paynesville, and Karen Fore of Grand Forks, ND. He is also survived by his siblings, Richard (Kathleen) Fore of LosLunas, NM and Mary Kay (Patrick) Lachner of Forest Lake, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
