Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 3rd, 2014 at St. Michael's Catholic Church for Charlotte Anderson who passed away on Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Mark Innocenti will officiate. Following a luncheon, burial will be at 3:00 pm in the Minnesota State Veterans cemetery in Little Falls. Friends and relatives may call from 9:00 - 11:00 am on Monday, February 3rd at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1036 County Road 4, St. Cloud. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
Charlotte was born in Finlayson, Minnesota to Elmer and Van Detta Galvin. She married Donald Anderson July 4, 1950 in Witchita Falls, Texas. She traveled with her husband and children in the military until she returned to Minnesota in 1969 when her husband retired from the Air Force Academy. She was a homemaker and a life-long learner, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in nutrition from St. Cloud State University. She had many interests including her love of family, writing, music, her church and her Irish heritage. Her devotion to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was demonstrated by her daily emails and frequent postcards,phone calls and letters. She was the central connection for all family events and adventures including travel, reunions, births, graduations, and daily activities.
She was surrounded by her loving husband and seven children when she passed. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Donald; children, Jackie (David) Garvey of Indianapolis, IN, Tom (Terry) of Hampton, NH, Barbara Anderson of Waite Park, David (Heather) of Nova Scotia, Canada, Michael (Sandie) of St. Cloud, Nancy (Mark) Arnold of St. Charles, MN and Anne Anderson of Lakeville; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Fitzgerald of Davenport, IA, Pat (Annelle) Galvin of Askov, MN, and Katie (Bill) Belcher of Apple Valley.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Dorothy Emert, Russell Emert, Marge Greteman, Leo Galvin, Bernie Galvin, and Valeria Galvin.
Donations may be given in her name to Catholic Charities of St. Cloud.
