Hanson, age 67, who passed away Saturday at St. Benedict's Senior Community in St. Cloud.
Douglas G. Hanson was born Sept. 4, 1946 in Nevis to Arlie & Florence (Boyer) Hanson. He worked for Pick's Welding as a welding fabricator, Scenic Sign as a welder, Underground Services and Armco as a foreman, and Wonewok Resort in Park Rapids as a fishing guide. Doug was a jack of all trades, he especially enjoyed being outdoors working various jobs. Doug was a hard worker who was stubborn, independent, and wasn't afraid of anything. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping. Doug had a great sense of humor, often using one liners, and loved to make people laugh. Doug was a man of few words, but his children meant the world to him. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his daughters and son, Holly (Chris) Sutton of Alexandria, Heidi (Franklin Raduenz) Hanson of Nevis, and Doug (Carol) Hanson of Sauk Rapids; granddaughter, Emma; brothers, Duane (Kathi) Hanson of Monticello and Rob (Riia) Hanson of Fredericksburg, VA; nephews and niece, Chuck, Tom, and Wendy Hanson; and great niece, Marissa. Doug was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Jim Boyce; granddaughter, Nicole; as well as aunts and uncles.
