Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids for Douglas Dean Patridge, age 74, of St. Cloud, who passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital after complications following surgery. Rev. Christopher Hill of the St. Cloud V.A. will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at the Minnesota State Veterans
Cemetery in Little Falls with full military honors. Friends and relatives may visit one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday.
Douglas Dean Patridge was born on August 9, 1938 in Millbank, South Dakota to George and Elizabeth (Rosenwald) Patridge. He lived in St. Cloud since 1987 and previously in Richfield for 20 years. Doug grew up in Ortonville, MN and graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1956 where he lettered in football and track. Doug earned a Bachelor degree in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota
and then worked as a computer programmer analyst and consultant for Control Data for 18 years among other positions. Doug was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, bird hunting and walking his dogs. Doug was active in youth soccer not only with his own children in Richfield, but throughout his time in St. Cloud. Doug cared for his parents in their final years and enjoyed with them golf, cribbage, Quiddler, and other card games at Whitney Senior Center. He volunteered for many years at the VA and regularly drove the AA van to meetings in Cold Spring. Doug kept in close contact with many friends and relatives with well chosen birthday cards and letters.
Doug is survived by his children, Chris Gustner of Scandia; Tony (Yana) Patridge of Hopkins and Jonathan (Lisa) Patridge of Hopkins; siblings Michael (Marci) of Grand Forks, ND; Mark (Terri) of Apple Valley; Mary (Jack) Burt of Jacobson, and Margaret (John Grether) of St. Cloud; grandchildren Sarah, Alex, Nathan, Tony, Molly, and Alec; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dale.
