Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Popple Creek for Elizabeth J. Harding, age 84, who passed away Tuesday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. T. J. Rehwaldt will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday (TODAY) at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Friday at the church. St. John's Lutheran prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Elizabeth was born Feb. 18, 1929 in St. Cloud to Julius & Pauline (Steindorf) Kiekow. She married George Packert on Oct. 19, 1946, and George passed away on Jan. 5, 1982. She married Don Harding on Aug. 28, 1994, and Don passed away on Jan. 27, 1998. Elizabeth was a homemaker and also worked at Fingerhut, Stearns Manufacturing, and Quebecor Printing. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Popple Creek. Elizabeth was an avid quilter, sharing her talents with many friends and family. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and baking, especially apple and coconut cream pies.
Survivors include her daughters, Connie (Jim) Stanley of Sauk Rapids, Kathy (Jerry) Jacquemart of Foley, Linda (Roger) Gavanda of Foley, and Pat (Curt) Smelter of Foley; 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, George and Don; son, Jim Packert on Apr. 12, 1999; grandson, Jake Gavanda on Jan. 5, 2002; brothers, Alfred, Walter, Carl and Clarence Kiekow; and sisters, Rose Nielsen, Ruth Nielsen, and Pauline Montag.
