Esther R. Doroff-Sobiech 95 year-old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Father Nicholas Landsberger officiating. Burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Parish Cemetery in Sobieski, MN. Relatives and friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Wednesday and from 10-11 A.M. on Thursday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Parish prayers will held at 5 P.M. on Wednesday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN.

Esther Rose was born on July 7, 1917 at home to Joseph and Rose (Kujawa) Zyvoloski in Pike Creek Township, Morrison County. She was the youngest of 10 children. Esther attended school at District 75 and St. Stanislaus Catholic School in Sobieski, MN. She was united in marriage to Walter J. Doroff on September 22, 1936 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN. Walter and Esther farmed northwest of Little Falls and were loving parents to three children, Joseph Walter, Patricia Susann, and Joanne Rose. Walter and Esther enjoyed 35 years of marriage together. After Walter passed away Esther purchased a home in Little Falls and was employed at St. Otto's Care Center for 8 years as a seamstress, and she also volunteered at St. Otto's for many years. Esther was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Little Falls VFW Auxiliary, Little Falls American Legion Auxiliary, Christian Women of St. Mary's, and Secular Franciscan Order. She enjoyed music, dancing, traveling, fishing, embroidering on dish towels, and many other crafts. Over the years she sewed awesome quilts for her daughters, granddaughters, and great-granddaughter. Esther also enjoyed baking, especially delicious coffee cakes and pies. She also baked and decorated beautiful cakes for weddings and other special occasions. Esther married John J Sobiech on November 21, 1980 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls. John passed away May 29, 2005. Esther had great faith in God, she prayed the rosary daily and now Mom is in heaven with Jesus.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patricia and husband Walter L. Andres of Little Falls, MN, Joanne and husband Jimmy F. Schultz of Sartell, MN; granddaughters, JoAnn E. Andres and husband Michael D. Norby of Waverly, MN and Jill C. Thelander and significant other Dean J. Young of Little Falls, MN; great-granddaughter, Erin C. Thelander of Little Falls, MN; and sister, Phyllis Kurowski of Little Falls, MN.

Esther was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Rose Zyvoloski; husband, Walter J. Doroff (Aug. 8, 1971); infant son, Joseph (Oct. 15, 1938); grandson-in-law, David J. Thelander (Jul. 5, 2009); second husband, John J. Sobiech (May 29, 2005); sisters, Helen Zyvoloski, Martha Tillman, Florence Zyvoloski, Theresa Tillman, and Sophie Button; and brothers, Henry, Edmund, and Victor Zyvoloski.

Esther's family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice Team for the exceptional and compassionate care they gave Mom, also a warm thank you to the Lutheran Care Center Staff for the kindness and wonderful care they provided to Mom.
