George was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Avon; he was also a member and past chief and assistant chief for the Avon Fire Department, serving for 25 years. George enjoyed fishing and hunting; he would give you the shirt off his back but in return never wanted to be the center of attention. He is survived by his children, Jason (Fiancé, Stephanie Thomes) of St. Cloud; Amanda (Eric) Grabmeier of Albany; two grandchildren, Grace and Raegan. He was greatly anticipating the birth of his third grandchild. He is also survived by a sister and brother, Jean Shepherd of Avon; Brian (Anne) Brix of Farming.
