Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Graham United Methodist Church in Graham Township for Harvey Meinert who died Friday at his home with his family at his side. Rev. Suzanne Maki will officiate and burial will be at a later date at the church cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00-8:00PM Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and 1 hour prior to services Wednesday at the church in Graham Township. Rice American Legion will pray at 5:30PM followed by a church prayer service Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.

Harvey was born in St. Cloud to Edward & Rosetta (Aker) Meinert. He served his country in the United States Army. He married Betty Schumann on October 20, 1962 at Grace United Methodist Church in St. Cloud. He and Betty lived in the Twin Cities for eleven years before moving to Rice. He worked as a printer for Sentinel Printing in St. Cloud and also farmed for many years. He was a member of Graham United Methodist Church in Graham Township and the Rice American Legion post #473. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Harvey was strong- willed and always went all out when he had his mind set on something. He also enjoyed gardening, canning and patrolling the area. He was a hard worker and always made a full-time job out of whatever he was doing.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of Rice; children, Jeffrey (Karen) of Andover; Angela Schaefer of St. Cloud; Michelle Vogt of Rice; Gregory (Molly) of Rice; grandchildren, Katie, Derek, Grant, Paige, Kirsten, Joshua, Riley, Abbey, and Alex. He is also survived by his brothers and sister, Ken (Margie) of Crystal; Larry (Marilyn) of Nevis; Jim (Darlene) of Malmo; Rosie Neubeck of Brooklyn Park; Mickey (Mary Jane) of Moundsview; sister-in-law Darlene Meinert of St. Paul; brother-in-law, Jerry (Mary) Noon of Blackduck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bill, and sister, Lucille Noon.
