Jacqueline H. Ree(1925 - 2014)

Jacqueline H. Ree, 89

Sauk Rapids

Jan. 9, 1925 - Feb. 18, 2014

Jacqueline Henriette Marie Fayola was born on Jan 9, 1925 to Alfred and Yvonne Fayola in Reims, France. She lived in northern France during World War II and experienced many of the harsh realities of living through a war. It was during the war, though, that she met the love of her life, Jens Ree, a handsome Army Captain from North Dakota. They were married in Paris on July 22, 1946 and lived their entire married lives of 58 years in Minnesota. Together they enjoyed raising their four children, visiting friends, playing cards and traveling. Trips to France were especially enjoyable.

Jacqueline (Jackie) loved gardening and enjoyed her flower beds. She prepared wonderful meals and pastries. Apple pies and sugar cookies were family favorites. A skilled seamstress, she sewed many clothes for her two young daughters. And baby blankets were knit for all 8 grandchildren as well as the 10 great-grandchildren. Above all, she cherished time spent with family and especially enjoyed large family get-togethers. Everybody loved spending time with Grandma Jackie.

Jacqueline spoke flawless English with just a bit of a French accent. She learned the American way of doing things but never forgot her French heritage, adding elegance and style to everything she did.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Rene.

Jackie is survived by her four children: Francine (Mark) Johnson, Sue Liden and Stan, Steven (Roxann) Ree and Marc (Jill) Ree. Eight Grandchildren: Ryan (Cheri) Johnson, Ben (Lisa) Johnson, Allison (Jeremy) Dirksen, Lindsey (Ashley) Butler, Danielle (Kevin) Armbrust, Mackenzie Ree, Aaron Ree and Chloe Ree. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.

A prayer service is set for Thurs Feb 27th 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Living Waters Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday Feb 28th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Henning MN. The grandchildren will be honorary pall bearers. Lunch will be served immediately following the service.

A special thank you to the staff at Country Manor for the compassionate care provided our loved one these past two months.
