James P. Kosel, 76

Waite Park

May 18, 1937 - February 13, 2014

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 17th at St. Paul's Catholic Church for James P. Kosel who passed away on Thursday. Rev. Al Stangl will officiate and burial will be in the Benton County Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Sunday, February 16th at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud, and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 5:30 pm, Eagles at 6:00 PM, and the Moose Lodge at 7:00 PM on Sunday evening.

James was born in St. Cloud to the late Peter and Johanna (Slivnik) Kosel. He married Joan Hedlund (Boekhoff) on October 15, 1966 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. James retired in 1998 after 35 years working as a purchasing agent for Central McGowan Inc. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church where he ushered as well as singing with the funeral choir and serving on the church council. He was also a member on Eagles Aerie 622, Moose Lodge #1400 Waite Park, and a member of Sports Incorporated for many years. James enjoyed fishing, sports, cribbage, and cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Joan; daughters, Nancy (Ernie) Landwehr of Prairie City, Iowa, and Lynn (Leo) Plumski of Sartell; grandchildren, Jessica Landwehr, Melissa (Josh) Thomas, Travis (Lindsay) Landwehr, Eric (Cindy) Walberg, Crystal (Brad) Traczyk, Brandon (Brianna) Plumski, and Maddie Landwehr; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Ray (Barb) Kosel, of St. Cloud and sisters-in-law, Loretta Kosel of Waite Park and Joyce Kosel of Gering, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Sr. and Albert, and sisters, Eunice Boos and Virginia Kosel.

Memorials are preferred to the Poor Clare's Monastery.
