James "Jamie" Lauer, 55

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 15th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church for James "Jamie" Lauer who died on Monday. Rev. Thomas Knoblach will officiate and burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on Friday, February 14th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. A prayer service will be at 5:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
Jamie was born in St. Cloud to Donald and Pauline (Wilke) Lauer. He loved his job as a Lead Supervisor for X-Cel Optical, Sauk Rapids, where he worked for the past 36 years. Jamie had a passion for trees and gardening, specializing in perennials. His yard looked like a "Mini Munsinger Garden." Another of Jamie's loves was for cats and dogs. Over the years he had many show quality Siamese cats including grand champions. Jamie also enjoyed classic movies, reading, listening to oldies music on Kool 108, and being a great uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Jamie is survived by his brother, John (Brenda) of Sartell, and sister, Jacqueline (Tom) Blommer of St. Cloud; His loving companion, beagle dog, "Smudge"; nieces and nephews, Noel and Zach Lauer and Kelsey and Kyle Blommer; and special family friend, Marcie Santos.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Timothy Lauer in 1992.
