Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for Lawrence "Larry" L. Wruck, age 63, who passed away Monday at his home. Rev. Jerry Dalseth will officiate and burial will be at Annunciation Cemetery in Mayhew Lake. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Friday at the church. Sauk Rapids VFW
Post #6992 will pray at 6:30 p.m., followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.
Lawrence L. Wruck was born March 14, 1950 in St. Cloud to Ervin & Lucille (Barthel) Wruck. He served his country in the U.S. Army with the 173rd Airborne Brigade during the Vietnam War
. Larry married Jayne Surma on Aug. 14, 1971 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Mayhew Lake. He lived in the Sartell area most of his life and worked in maintenance and housekeeping for the St. Cloud VA Medical Center for 34 years, retiring in May of 2011. Larry was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids VFW Post #6992, and the NRA. Larry was known for being generous, humble, and strong. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling and most outdoor activities especially deer hunting, camping and was a great griller. Most recently he spent much of his time gardening. When it was too cold to garden he was in his new shop refinishing furniture.
Survivors include his wife, Jayne of Sartell; children, Tonya Wruck (Jesse Kitchens) of St. Paul, Ryan (Emily) Wruck of Big Lake, Clinton (Lisa) Wruck of Foley, Shawna (Peter) Minor of St. Cloud, and Alisha Wruck (Dan Pierskalla) of St. Paul; brothers and sisters, Gerald Wruck of Sauk Rapids, Darlene Chock of Grey Eagle, Duane Wruck of Gilman, David Wruck of Rice, Shirley Leyk of Waite Park, Kathleen Gratke of Sauk Rapids, Patrick Wruck of Grey Eagle, Brian Wruck of Sauk Rapids, and Sandra Schmitz of St. Cloud; and grandchildren, Brie, Brandon, Lenora, Charles, Annastasia, Nataly, Samuel, and Millie.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Trever; brother, Richard; and brothers-in-law, Jim Leyk and Gene Gratke.
