Leonard F. Goenner, 94

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2012 at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake for Leonard F. Goenner, age 94, who passed away Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Virgil Helmin will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and family may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Clear Lake and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 5:00 p.m., followed by St. Marcus Knights of Columbus Council #14733 at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Clear Lake.
Leonard was born July 3, 1918 in Clear Lake to Alfred & Catherine (Steiner) Goenner. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II, earning a Bronze Star
. Leonard married Clara Nierengarten on June 11, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids. He lived and farmed in the Clear Lake area his entire life. Leonard was an active member of St. Marcus Catholic Church, St. Marcus Knights of Columbus Council #14733, and Clear Lake American Legion Post #354. Leonard enjoyed farming, duck and squirrel hunting, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a kind gentle man who was very well thought of.
Survivors include his wife, Clara of Sartell; son, Loren (Mary) of Clear Lake; and grandchildren, Sidney and Kaitlyn. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gerald.
