Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Marian L. LaDouceur, 80, who passed away on Friday at Quiet Oaks Hospice House. Rev. Jeremy Ploof will officiate. Entombment will be in the Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, St. Cloud. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home at 1900 Veterans Drive in St. Cloud and also after 9:00 a.m. prior to the Mass at the church on Saturday in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. followed by French/Canadian Society at 5:30 p.m., and the Eastside VFW
Post 4847 Auxiliary will pray at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home in St. Cloud. The Father Pierz Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will stand Honor Guard from 5-8 p. m. on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Marian was born in Delano, to Frank and Victoria (Sabanish) Marketon. She moved to Rockford after the death of her parents and lived with her aunt and uncle Leonard and Fran Wild. Marian graduated from Rockford High School, after graduation along with her aunt and uncle she moved to Mora, MN in 1950. She married George A. LaDouceur on January 30, 1954 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mora. Marian was the secretary and office manager at St. Augustine's Catholic Church from 1972 to February 1996. She was a member of the Christian Women; belonged to the American Legion 428 Auxiliary in Waite Park; VFW 4847 Auxiliary, St. Cloud, St. Theresa's Mission Group and Our Lady of Grace Card Group. She was a member of the French/Canadian Society where she served as treasurer. Marian spent many hours volunteering at New Beginnings and Birthline, especially taking care of the babies. One young one touched her heart-Ben-whom she and George gave him loving parent care in his early years. She also enjoyed the gatherings where wives were involved in the 3rd and 4th Degree of Knights of Columbus. Marian enjoyed reading mysteries and knitting. Marian and George enjoyed the special yearly anniversary dinners with Bill and Mary Ann Wade and Tom and Marianne Jancik.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, George, of St. Cloud; son, Dr. Michael (Penny) LaDouceur, Brentwood, TN; grandsons Alexander, of Dallas, TX, Zachary of Knoxville, TN; brother, Raymond Marketon of Brooklyn Center, MN; 14 nieces and 12 nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Marketon.
Marian's family would like to thank the caregivers at Quiet Oaks Hospice House for their care and support which exceeded the family expectations.
