A Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday January 17, 2013 at the St. Mary Help of Christians Cemetery in St. Augusta MN for Marilyn Imholte, age 81 of San Juan, TX formerly of St. Cloud, MN, who died on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Aurora Hospice House. The Reverend Bob Rolfe will be the celebrant.
Marilyn was born the oldest daughter of ten siblings on April 22, 1931 in Mound, Minnesota, to Edward and Effie (Ohlrichs) Michel, and later moved to Clearwater, MN. She attended Technical High School. She raised nine children after marrying Henry J. Imholte on July 31, 1948 at St. Mary's Church in St. Augusta. Marilyn worked at Stearns Manufacturing and a local Drapery Shop before retiring.
Marilyn raised six sons and three daughters, she enjoyed baking for her family, keeping a garden, crocheting, needle point, and painting ceramics, she also loved dance and swim. She enjoyed having sleep overs with her grandkids, she loved nice things, was a great decorator and hair dresser, she also enjoyed traveling. After her husband died in 1987, Marilyn traveled and then decided to live in Texas where the weather was warm. Marilyn will be remembered for her friendliness and sense of humor, and the many creative craft items and culinary treats she made for friends and family.
Marilyn's survivors include her longtime companion Orval Gudall, formerly of Monticello, five sons, Kevin (Elk River), Daniel (San Antonio), Richard (Shoreview), Joel (St. Cloud) and Christopher (Mankato), daughter, Pamela, (St. Cloud), 21 grandchildren: Lance, Melissa, Todd, Chad, Bradley, Michael, Shawn, Joshua, Brandon, Ashley, Sarah, Nicolle, Andrew, Aaron, Erica, Jessica, Taylor, Brittney, Jessica, Brianna, Christopher Jr. eighteen great grandchildren: Drake, Connor, Brianna, Alexis, Maddie, Mitchell, Nicklaus, Courtney, Jordon, Henry, Maggie, Finnegan, Hailey, Josie, Karlie, Makiah, Aivra, Kayle and a brother Stephen Michel (Colorado), sisters Emily Lundsford (Alabama) and Dorthea Gerads (Minnesota).
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers and sisters, and son David and daughters Diane and Sandra E. Davis.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. (Aurora House, Weslaco TX).
