Marlys A.Evavold, 79

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud for Marlys A. Evavold, age 79, of St. Cloud, who died December 19, 2012 at the Country Manor in Sartell. Burial will take place at Pelican Lake Cemetery in Ashby.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud with a time of sharing at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Marlys was born on August 19, 1933 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Edward and Ruby (Courneya) Okerson. On August 18, 1950, she married Kenneth Evavold in Ashby, who was her sweetheart that brought her 42 years of happiness. They enjoyed traveling all over and lived in Mesa, AZ for 7 years. Marlys was a very talented person who loved to paint, crochet, sew, design and decorate homes. She also loved to create floral designs and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Marlys loved the Lord and was a very active member of Salem Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the French Canadian Society.
Marlys is survived by her children Debbie (Bill) Scott of Rice, Melinda (Mark) Mortensen of Clear Lake, Pennie (Brian) Albers of St. Cloud, Craig Evavold of St. Cloud, Kurt Evavold of Clearwater and Tammie (Steve) Neu of St. Augusta, 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and brother Douglas (Judy) Okerson of Miami, FL.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Kenneth (April 5, 1992) and six siblings; Charolette DeLuca, Shirley Bjerk, Marlene Powers, Bud Okerson, Micky Okerson and Tom Okerson.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
