Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel in Sauk Rapids for Maxine Headley, age 86, of Sauk Rapids who passed away on Monday at Sterling House in Sauk Rapids. Rev. Harvey Ehlers will officiate and burial will be private in Cushing, MN. Friends and relatives may call after 10:00 a.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

Maxine was born on April 8, 1926 in Fairmont, MN to Hamlin and Olga (Holden) Smith. She married Donald H. Headley on August 24, 1950. The couple lived in Richfield, MN until moving to Sauk Rapids in 1962. Maxine worked in food service at Good Shepherd for 14 years, retiring in 1971. She was also involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters in Minneapolis for many years. Maxine enjoyed bingo, word find books, cards, especially pokeno and spending time at the cabin on Ham Lake. She wintered in Arizona and Texas and loved spending time with her friends and family.

Survivors include her daughters and son, Dawn (John) Bell of Rice, Diane (James) Quigley of Glendale, AZ and Dean (Deb) Headley of Sauk Rapids; grandchildren, Erin (Simon) Hedge of Glendale, AZ, James Quigley of Phoenix, AZ, Ashley (Gama) Bell-Xitumul of Guatemala, Logan Bell of Rice, Blake Headley of Boulder, CO, Dane Headley of Sauk Rapids and Drew Headley of Sauk Rapids; and great grandchildren, Evan and Aden Hedge of Glendale, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Donald on August 24, 1991.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her friends at Good Shepherd West Apartments, St. Cloud Hospital, Good Shepherd Lutheran Home ACE Unit, Sterling House of Sauk Rapids and St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care given to Maxine.
