Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 22, 2011 at St. Wendelins Catholic Church in Luxemburg for Roland A. "Rollie" Albers, 75, of Luxemburg, who died July 18, 2011 at Lakeview Ranch in Dassel. The Reverend Marvin Enneking, Reverend Ralph Zimmerman, and Reverend Edwin Kraemer will con-celebrate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 3:00-8:00 PM on Thursday at Mary Hall in Luxemburg; Parish Prayers will be at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue after 10:00 AM on Friday at Mary Hall.
Rollie was born on October 9, 1935, in St. Cloud, MN, to Fred "Fritz" and Rose (Michels) Albers. He graduated from Tech High School in 1953. He married Renee Kiffmeyer on June 30, 1955 in St. Mary's Help of Christians Church in St. Augusta. Rollie was employed at Coca-Cola Bottling i n 1953, and then in 1963 went into partnership in operating Dr Pepper Bottling in Little Falls/St. Cloud until retiring in 2001. Rollie enjoyed playing baseball, hunting and fishing with his family, snowmobiling, and spending time at the family cabin. He loved to travel and attend Dr Pepper conven-tions. Rollie was a life-long member of St. Wendelin's Parish. He was a long-time member of the Luxemburg Rec Club and was a charter member of the Luxemburg Lions Club for 27 years. Rollie also was a member of the Eagles Aerie #622 and the Moose Lodge #1400.
Rollie is survived by: his wife Renee of Luxemburg; children, Brian (Pennie) of St. Cloud, Debbie (Randy) Johnson of Bemidji, Dale (Jeneen), Daryl (Janet), Wayne (Lori) all of Luxemburg, Mike (Bethany) of Clearwater, Sandy (Jerry) Paul of St. Cloud, Mary Jo (Dave) Vetsch of Clearwater; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Ken (Hermie) of Luxemburg, Rosemary (Larry) Hinkemeyer of Mt. Prospect, IL, Georgia (Vernon) Koshiol of Luxemburg, Delores (Merrill) Hinkemeyer of Cold Spring, Virgie (Floyd) Beumer of Rockville, Bernie (Thomas) Swanson of Mesa, AZ, Milt (Joyce) of Plymouth; sister-in-law Mary Ann Albers of St. Cloud.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law Fred Jr. and Mildred Albers, Father and Mother-in-law Norbert and Eleanor Kiffmeyer, brother-in-law Duane "Buddy" Kiffmeyer.
