Stanley G. Kron, 80

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Stanley G. Kron, age 80 of St. Joseph who passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at his home. Reverend Joseph Feders, OSB and Reverend Alfred Stangl will officiate. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday and after 12:00 Noon on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Parish prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home in St. Joseph.
Stan was born on February 7, 1931 in Richmond, Minnesota to Alphonse and Regina (Schreifels) Kron. He married Mary Ann Nierenhausen on January 20, 1954 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring; she preceded him in death on October 15, 1988. Stan later married Judith I. Thelen on May 14, 2005 at the St. Cloud Veterans Affairs Medical Center Chapel. He was employed as a Union carpenter for over 40 years. This included St. John's University, College of St. Benedict, Crossroads Shopping Center and the last 18 years at the Sherco Power Plant in Becker. Stan retired in 1991.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, St. Joe Rod and Gun Club and St. Cloud Eagles Aerie #622.
Stan enjoyed ice fishing with his handmade jiggle sticks, playing cribbage, building bird houses and feeders, gardening, traveling with Judy, volunteering at the parish and the Parish 4th of July Celebration. He especially enjoyed deer hunting with his sons.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; sons, James (Deb) of Baxter, Gerry of Sauk Rapids, Joel (Eileen) of St. Joseph and Jeffrey of Mayer; 28 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; step-children, Jennifer (Tom) Thelen-Guck of St. Cloud, Jacqueline Luethmers of Phoenix, Arizona, Kathryn Thelen of St. Cloud, Sandra (Alan) Shook of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Antoinette (Larry) Nadeau of Foley, Carla (Tom) Hanson of Rochester, Sara (Tony) Peluso of Gilbert, Arizona and Christopher Thelen and fiance Emily Snow of Belgium; sisters, Delores (Ed) Weisner of St. Cloud and Grace Loso of St. Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Ann; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Kron; brothers, Alphonse, Jr. and Roger; sisters, Rosella Terwey and Arlene Biskupski.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
