A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Theodore J. "Ted" Duncan will be held Wednesday, June 20th, 2012 at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph, Minnesota from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Theodore J. "Ted" Duncan passed away Sunday, June 10th, 2012, after a four year journey with cancer.

Ted was born August 11, 1939, in Waite Park, MN to Nelda Duncan. He married Marion Dockendorf August 31, 1958. They settled in St. Joseph to raise their family. Ted worked for various acoustical contractors, eventually becoming co-owner of St. Cloud Acoustics. Through his life Ted was an integral member of many clubs and organizations such as, St. Joe Sno Joes, St. Joseph Lions Club, Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, Ducks Unlimited and others. Instrumental in the organization of the Long Lake Homeowners Association, Ted served as president for many years. Ted enjoyed life to the fullest. Early days included snowmobile racing, and playing softball. Recent years brought many car trips with friends in a convoy of classic cars to fun destinations. After early retirement in 1995, Ted and Marion fulfilled a goal and moved to their lake home near Hillman, MN. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed many destination hunting and fishing trips with friends and family. Many memorable hunting years were had at the Blackduck cabin as well.

Ted is survived by his wife Marion, daughters, Robbin (Brian) Murphy, St. Joseph, Kim Duncan, St. Joseph; much loved grandchildren, Adam Murphy, Minneapolis, Meghan Murphy, St. Cloud, and Kailey Duncan, St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by his Mother Nelda Lampher, and Step-father Raymond Henz.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Deb Corrigan and all the staff at Coborns Cancer Center for their care and support. Words cannot express the gratitude the family has for the staff and volunteers at Quiet Oaks Hospice House. They provided great peace and a sense of home for Ted and his family.

Memorials are requested to Quiet Oaks Hospice House.

His journey was a struggle, we knew at the end he had found peace, and right before the rain came in an echo of the thunder we heard him say, "Catch ya down the road".
