Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life the Werner J. Kraemer, 90, of Paynesville will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville.   Werner passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Assumption Home in Cold Spring.  Reverend Glenn Krystosek will officiate.  Burial with military honors will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 9:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church.  Arrangements are with Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home, Paynesville.

Werner was born on June 7, 1924 in Lake Henry to the late George and Mary (Patsch) Kraemer.   He joined the US Navy and served during WWII.  Werner was honorably discharged and returned to Lake Henry.  He married Luella M. Tschumperlin on November 28, 1957 at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley.   They lived and farmed in Lake Henry for 35 years and retiring in 1989; they moved to Paynesville.  Werner was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #3820 and the Paynesville American Legion Post #271.  He spent nine years as the director at First State Bank, taught catechism for five years and was an active volunteer with Tri-CAP for 20 years.

Werner enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, dancing and traveling with his wife.  He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and water skiing.  Above all he treasured time with his family.  Werner will be remembered for his strong faith, hard work ethic and fun sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Luella of Paynesville; children, Evelyn (Jeff) Olson; Jeanette Kraemer-Clemons (Joe), Carolyn (Carl) Oldani, George (Tina), JoAnn (Larry) Barbetta; 12 grandchildren; and one great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings.
