As the days go by, without you in this community brings tears to my eyes..you helped myself and my girls on a difficult nite, and I will always treasure that, the hugs, advice, and just reassuring my daughter God would bring me home safe that nite. As he did, you came and offered hugs to comfort. I cry everytime I think of all the good you have done for me and many others. You will always be in our hearts~ Tons of love, hugs, and prayers to the family and friends of Tommy may God carry you thru this time and always~

My prayers go out to the family of Tommy and to the community of Cold Spring and Richmond.
I think of Tommy's life as giving of himself. He grew up in the community of St. Nicholas named after a saint who is famous for giving and has inspiried many to this day to give and not expect anything back. He was buried on the eve of St. Nicholas.
May Tommy's spirit of giving live on in our lives.
Lord protect and guide of all law enforcment officers.

Tommy you were so good to me and always giving me a helping hand when needed. I cannot believe you are gone, my thoughts and prayers are with his family and those poor young kids now living without a daddy. So unfair, it makes me sick. Tommy give your princess Alicia the strength that she needs, I cannot imagine being a newlywed and loosing someone so fast. Tommy you will never ever ever be forgotten!!!

Words cannot really express the sadness that I feel for the loss of such a fine young man. I remember Tom well from his school days and was always impressed by his winning smile, hard work ethic, and determined spirit. I know that those are the kinds of things that will live on in his memory. I say an extra special prayer today for his family, as well as all of the officers who continue to serve. Thank you for the time that we had with you, albeit too short. Rest in Peace.

Dear Kelly, Jade, Justin and Devon,

You and I have similar stories in that my Daddy also died in the line of duty. It happened on Nov 15th at 5pm. I still remember the day like it was yesterday. I was 9 years old and my brother was 12 and my baby sister was 8. When we found out that my Daddy died and was not ever coming back, I cried and cried and cried. It hurt so bad, I never thought my hurt would end. It was very overwhelming for the first few months as there were so many people that would come and go to help my Mommy and check on us kids. I remember I was out of school for 2 weeks and at the time we had lots of snow on the ground so we spent a lot time playing outside while our Mommy could take care of business and figure out what going to happen next. My Mommy cried a lot too and I hated to see my Mommy cry because it made me sad. She missed my Daddy too and did not know what the future would bring. I then got mad at God as I could not figure out why he would take our Daddy away from us. He made me mad, so mad, that I was angry for a very long time.

Guess what? My Daddy died 35 years ago and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about him. I love him very much and know that he is watching and protecting me. He's been my guardian angel. Even after so many years, it seems like yesterday. I am not sad anymore as I know that God had new plans for him. I don't know what that is but I know that he went to heaven and doing lots of good things. There are times that I meet people that knew my Daddy and remember all the good things about him. That makes me happy knowing that my Daddy had a lot of friends and he still lives on in people's heart.

I know that you will have some very hard days ahead of you and I know how much you hurt. The day I found out about your Daddy, I cried too as it made me sad to think about you going through the same pain that my brother, sister and I did too. It's okay to cry and get mad. You might even get mad at each other and that's okay too. What got me through those sad days was my family especially my brother and sister. To this day we are still very close.

I did not know your Daddy but he sounded like a really cool guy and very well liked and I wish that I got to meet him. Just remember your Daddy was a true hero and will never be forgotten.

My thoughts and prayers and many hugs to you!
