Sylvester B. "Sy" Kaeter, 82

July 12, 1928 - June 10, 2011

A most loving husband, devoted father and the world's best grandpa and great grandpa died June 10, 2011. He lived 82 years with passion, faith and joy. His many interests and pursuits included 30 years at Baston Chevrolet as mechanic and parts dept. manager, a lake cabin he built himself, fishing trips to Canada, many years of farming and his horses which included a decade of fun with the Lucky Riders horse club. He taught many to love horses and grandkids to ride. He was much loved by his family, friends, his horses and a loyal dog, Shep. His horse, Lady, will be escorting him on his last ride at Assumption Cemetery after the funeral service.

Sy was born on July 12, 1928 in St Augusta, MN to Norbert and Loretta (Gohman) Kaeter. He is survived by his wife, Doreen (Wocken) Kaeter, of 60 years, the love of his life; his children: Sharon Morgan (David), Gary Kaeter, Dale Kaeter, Rick (Patty) Kaeter and Jim (Denise) Kaeter ; grandchildren: Janelle Barthel, Jennifer Kaeter, Laura Kaeter, Danny Kaeter, Barbie Feia, Jackie Kaeter, Anna Kaeter, Phil Victory; great grandchildren: Jackson Smith, Kaydence Feia, Kenzie Feia.; brother Vernon (Theresa) Kaeter.

He was preceeded in death by his parents and his brother Eugene Kaeter.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday June 14 and 11:30 am to 12:30 PM on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish Prayers will be at 6:00 pm on Tuesday at the Funeral Home. The Mass will be at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Cloud at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 15. A lunch will follow to include his passion for ice cream and cowboy cookies.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Quiet Oaks Hospice House so that others can receive the loving care that is offered there.
