Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for James J. "Jim" Dingmann, age 84, of St. Cloud, who passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Entombment with military honors will take place at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the Church. Parish prayers will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Jim was born on June 22, 1929 in Farming, Minnesota to Norbert and Josephine (Holthaus) Dingmann. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Jim married Louise Schmitz on June 10, 1954 at St. James Catholic Church in Jacobs Prairie. He worked as a Semi Driver for Maiers Transfer the majority of his life. Jim was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, the St. Cloud V.F.W. Granite City Post #428, and Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post #428.
Jim enjoyed fishing, bowling, ice skating and dancing with Louise. He especially loved all the time spent with his family.
He is survived by his children, Carol (Gerry) Johannes of Holdingford, Deb (Joe) Walz of Eagan, Linda (Leon) Traeger of Cold Spring, Michelle Kusy of St. Cloud, Wayne (Chris) of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Nathan, Eric, Todd, Chad, Jenna, Lindsay, and Adam; great-grandchildren, Kendra, Trevor, Brynn, and Lily; brother and sister, Richard (Marie) Dingmann of Rockville, Marie (Gervase) Erkens of Rockville; sister-in-laws, Dorothy and Tina.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise on July 7, 2013; brothers, Arnold, Cletus, Sylvester; infant sister, Bernadine; sister-in-law, Jeanette.
