Arnold "Arnie" J. Hieserich, 64

Dec. 16, 1949 ~ May 1, 2014

Mass of Christian Burial St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose will be on Saturday, May 17th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Arnie passed away unexpectedly on his (deceased) father's birthday, May 1st, at the St. Cloud Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Family and friends may come by from 5-9 p.m. Friday, May 16th at Pickups n' Powersports, 1640 Prairie Dr., Cold Spring, MN 56320. Bring your best looking truck, Jeep or classic/unique vehicle to have a vehicle show, out front in the parking lot next to Arnie's vehicle.

Arnie graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI in 1975 as an electrical engineer. He met and married his wife, Maureen, in Milwaukee at the time. Moved and worked for a startup computer company, Intel Corp., in Sunnyvale, CA in 1977. Moved back to Minneapolis, MN to start a family in 1981, working for Honeywell Corp. Arnie continued his education and became an Electrical Engineer P.E., worked on many projects throughout the U.S. and focused here in MN for several companies, doing the electrical as well as the design for hospitals, churches, hotels and schools. Projects included V.A. Hospital, Brainerd H.S., MSP Airport, Pickups n' Powersports, to mention a few.

Arnie devoted his life to his family, relatives and friends and his engineering field.

A couple of his one liners: "Timing is everything." "Two things in life are certain: death & taxes." "You have to work to get it. You have to work to keep it. You have to work to get rid of it." "If you don't open your mouth, you have to open your wallet."

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 37 years, Maureen; his beloved children, Justen and Monique; Arnie was preceded in death by his father, Arnold M. Hieserich (deceased Jan. 29, 1981); his 97-year-old mother, Edna, who just passed on May 6, 2014, on her deceased daughter's (Mara) birthday (died March 9, 1963); fond brother Don Hieserich and girlfriend, Sharon; sisters, Carol Hilger (husband Andy deceased August 18, 2013), Arlene (Mel) Walz and brother-in-law Ron Mlodzik (wife Donna, Arnie's sister, deceased April 26, 2013); also missed by many nieces & nephews, relatives and great friends.A Special thank you to the Gold Cross Crew from Rockville, doctors and nurses at St. Cloud Hospital all who worked feverishly to save Arnie's life.

May Arnie have a   restful retirement.
