Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for Francis "Fran" Joseph Millner, age 62, of Sauk Rapids who died Saturday at Fairview University Hospital, Minneapolis. Rev. Ronald Weyrens will officiate and entombment will be at Sacred Heart Mausoleum, Sauk Rapids. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the church. Parish prayers will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.
Fran was born April 17, 1951 in Little Falls to Frank and Barbara (Stangl) Millner and was raised in Pierz. He married Debra Slimmer on October 16, 1971 in Little Falls. Fran proudly served his country in the National Guards from 1970 to 1976. He worked as a mechanic and driver for Larson Bus Service from 1969 to 1981; Farmers Insurance Group from 1981 to 2006; and most recently as a driver/training coordinator for Vision Transportation. Fran was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids volunteer fire department for 20 years, former commander of Sauk Rapids American Legion, 40 & 8, and Metro Lions. He enjoyed talking politics, hunting, fishing, and learning and using the latest technology. He loved his family and friends dearly.
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Debra "Debby" of Sauk Rapids; daughters, Pamela (Shawn) Wensel of Sartell, and Melissa (Jermaine Ausley) Millner of Sauk Rapids; grandchildren, Cole and Lauren Wensel, and Jamarion Ausley; siblings, Lyann (Ralph) Quade of Pierz, Corrine (Gerald) Meyer of Pierz, Marilyn (Marvin) Dorn of Pierz, and Roger (Karen) Millner of Annandale.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Leander Millner.
