Geoffrey Ainsworth Moran, 43

Geoffrey Ainsworth Moran of Minneapolis, passed away Friday August 30 while camping with his wife in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. He was born July 16, 1970 in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. He was a graduate of Sartell High School. He earned a BS in Elected Studies from St. Cloud State University and an MA in Education from St. Mary's College. He spent two years as a volunteer teacher in the Peace Corps, in Burkina Faso, Africa. He was a Science Content Specialist for Questar Assessment, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Moran. He is survived by his wife Amy Brown Moran, siblings Valerie Hannon, Elaine Pavin, Clifford Moran II, Melanie Cantorna and Holly Hansen, and mother Jane Moran.
A wake will be held Thursday September 5, 2013 at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home, 2901 Johnson St. NE, Minneapolis, MN from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. 612-781-6828 www.washburn-mcreavy.com
A memorial service will be held on Friday September 6, 2013 at North Mississippi River Park, 5114 North Mississippi Drive, Minneapolis in the large pavilion (C ). The service will begin promptly at 1 p.m. with a lunch served at 2 p.m.
He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, plants and gardening, cooking and playing music. He was a wise, strong, loyal, sensitive, generous and gentle man who will be greatly missed.
