A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Church of St. Peter in St. Cloud for Janet B. Erpelding, 78, of Rice who died Friday, March 1, at her home. Rev. Alan Wielinski will officiate and burial will be in the Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Thursday March 7, at The Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home St. Cloud, and also after 9:30 am Friday morning at the Church in St. Cloud. Church of St. Peter parish prayers will be at 5:00 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Janet was born in Clontarf, Minnesota to the late William and Marie (Hargreaves) VanderWeyst. She married Paul R. Erpelding on April 11, 1953 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minden Township Benton County. Janet was an active member of the Church of St. Peter, praying the rosary and attending daily mass for many years. She cherished her faith and showered her family with fruits of the Spirit. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, playing card games and was a MN Twins fan. Her arms were always open with a joyful heart in loving acceptance and forgiveness.

Janet is survived by her children; Kathryn (Alan) Petri of Apple Valley, Richard (Bonnie) of Kasson, Randall "Jae" (Nora) of St. Cloud, Kim (Todd) Truax of Mound, Russell of Rice, Karen (Martin) Reker of Rice, Robert Polzin of Minneapolis, Raymond of Minneapolis and Karla (Ted) Baca of Rice; twenty-two grandchildren, six great grandchildren; brothers and sister, Howard (Joyce) VanderWyst of New Brighton, Robert VanderWeyst of Sartell, Merlin (Mary Jane) VanderWeyst of St. Cloud, Raymond (Virginia) VanderWeyst of Waite Park and Rose Marie (Anthony) Januszewski of St. Cloud.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband Paul on July 3, 1985 and grandson Sanjay Baca.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf, St. Cloud or the Poor Claire's Monastery, Sauk Rapids.
