Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Leona E. Lindskog-Davis, 94, of St. Joseph who died on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Reverend Eberhard Schefers will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.
Leona was born on October 8, 1916 in St. Anthony, Minnesota to the late Herman and Anna (Lehner) Vorgert. She married Arnold Lindskog on October 5, 1940 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in St. Cloud and he died on May 17, 1981. Leona married Harold Davis on November 21, 1984 in St. Cloud and he died on August 9, 1988. She lived in the St. Joseph area most of her life and was employed and volunteered at various businesses and organizations. She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, St. Joseph Senior Citizens, RSVP, St. Joseph VFW Post #5773 and the St. Joseph American Legion Post #328 Auxiliaries.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening and helping others.
Leona is survived by her children, Gerald Lindskog of Golden Valley and Suzanne Nieters of Rockville; grandchildren, Eric Nieters of Royalton and Kim (Scott) Westrup of Hanover; great grandchildren, Megan and Brianna Westrup; and sisters, Dorothy Pickera of Hibbing, Florence Loso of St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by both husbands; son-in-law, Melvin Nieters, brothers and sisters, Roman, Alois, Monica Brandt, Alfred, Edvina Jones, Ervin, Susan Althaus, Walter and Marion Cichy.
