Loraine Hokanson, 95, died November 18, 2012 in Sauk Rapids, MN.
Funeral services are 11:00, November 24, 2012, with visitation prior, at Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown, SD.
Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown.
Loraine Hokanson was born October 20, 1917 to Peter and Carrie (Rohr) Peterson at Oldham, SD and grew up on the family farm.
After graduating from Oldham High School, she attended Brady and Rogers School of Cosmetology in Minneapolis, working various jobs to put herself through school. She worked in cosmetology in Redfield and Stillwater, eventually co-owning the House of Beauty in Stillwater. Later, in Watertown, SD, she worked at Collins Music until her retirement.
She married Norman Twetten on April 12, 1942. They had one daughter, Linda. First Lieutenant Norman Twetten was killed in action in Germany in 1945. She married John Hokanson in 1948. They had 2 sons, Thomas and James. After John's death in 1952, she moved to Watertown, SD. In 2009, she moved to Sterling House Assisted Living in Sauk Rapids, MN to be near her daughter.
Preceded in death: both husbands, parents, 7 sisters and 3 brothers.
Survivors: her children: Linda (Twetten) Partridge of St. Cloud, MN, Thomas Hokanson, Peoria, IL and James Hokanson, Onida, SD; 1 granddaughter, Erin (Hokanson) Schmitt, Troy, IL; nieces and nephews; and friends old and new.
The family wishes to thank Sterling House, St. Croix Hospice and Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN.
Memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church or one's own place of worship.
