Marie was born October 28, 1923, in Cottonwood Township, Brown County, Minnesota, to Frank and Mary (Hillesheim) Kloeckl. She married Norman Schnobrich on January 10, 1942, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles. They were blessed with five children. The couple farmed in the New Ulm area for 25 years. They then owned and operated the Sunset Motel in New Ulm. In 1972 they moved to St. Joseph and established the Park Laundromat in Waite Park. Marie was also employed as a sales associate at JC Penney in Waite Park. After 39 years of marriage, Norman died in 1981.

On July 25, 1986, she married Richard Blaha in St. Cloud. They moved to Salem, OR soon after, and then to their country home near Scio, OR.

She enjoyed gardening and landscaping her yard in Oregon. Marie and Richard chose their home because of the relaxing view of the Cascade Mountains. Her time at the Coast was also special to her. Out-of-state visitors were usually treated to "a trip to the Coast."

Survivors include: her husband, Richard Blaha; children, Carol and Dave Hoffman and Mark and Lynn Schnobrich of Glenwood, Mike and Lisa Schnobrich of St. Joseph, Norma Jean Schnobrich of Wabasha, Lucy and James Wrede of Roseville, Jennifer Blaha and Megan Blaha of St. Paul; brothers, Paul and Roger of Gaylord, Tony of Arlington and Philip of Darwin; brother-in-law Harley Schnobrich of New Ulm; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; sons, Ronald Schnobrich and Paul Blaha; grandson, David T. Hoffman; brothers, Hilarian, Frank Jr., John and Joseph; sisters, Valeria Kading, Lorraine Pullman, Dolores Dietz, Joyce Stadick and Jane LaPlante; brother-in-law, Wallace Schnobrich; and sister-in-law, Marlyn Kuck.
