Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Ralph J. Illies, Jr., age 77 of St. Cloud who passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at his home. Reverend Alan Wielinski will officiate. Burial will take place at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and after 8:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Ralph was born on March 22, 1935 in St. Cloud to Ralph and Marie (Tiemann) Illies, Sr. He married JoAnn Sowada on November 16, 1959 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus. Ralph served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed by 7up Bottling Company for over 30 years and later worked for Rubald Beverage and Bernick's Bottling Company, retiring in 2001. Ralph was a member of St. Paul's Parish, Independent Order of Foresters, St. Cloud East Side Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4847, the Sauk Rapids American Legion Post #254 and the St. Cloud Eagle Aerie #622.

Ralph liked golf, fishing, restoring neon signs, playing cards and cribbage. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn; sons, Scott (Carri) of Woodstock, Georgia, Charles (Sharon) of Stilwell, Kansas, Michael of St. Cloud, Kenneth (Julie) of Rochester, and James of St. Cloud; six grandchildren, Matthew, Mitchell, Melissa, Catherine, Kailee and Justin; and sister, Rosemarie Stang of Waite Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
