My deepest sympathy to Delrose and Family. Verlin was a friend during my growing up in Watkins, as was Tony and Mary Ellen. We had many great times. I never will forget working in the tobacco fields, the trip through North Dakota with Verlin and Mike and hauling machinery here and there. Pease and grace to the entire Mies family.

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.

Verlin was a very likeable guy. He always made people feel at ease and his sense of humor lifted one's spirit. His involvement in the community proves his generousity. He will be missed. Had some great times with Delrose and Verlin. Dan and Shirley Schoonover, Baxter, MN

Verlin was a wonderful uncle and Godfather. When Verlin walked into a room he made everyone smile. He loved to tease and get everyone to laugh.
It was so much fun to watch Verlin play cards. He had some of the best table talk I have ever seen. He would light up with every comment he made. The outcome of each game usually ended with Verlin taking in the winnings.
Some of my favorite memories with Verlin were when he would take us fishing for sunnies. He was so patient and was so proud of us kids when we pulled in a big sunny. We filled many a fish basket but lost several baskets when Verlin forgot to pull them in before starting the motor. It was still a good day fishing to Verlin.
Verlin was a great man!
