Ellen M. Hurrle, 79

Clearwater

June 28, 1934 - May 17, 2014

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at St. Mary's Help of Christians in St. Augusta for Ellen M. Hurrle, age 79, who passed away Saturday at Quiet Oaks in St. Cloud. Rev. Robert Rolfes will officiate and entombment will be at the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at St. Mary's Help of Christians and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. St. Ann's Christian Women will pray at 6:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m.

Ellen was born on June 28, 1934 to Charles and Magdalen (Mondloch) Sinclair in St. Martin. On June 8, 1953 she married Elwood Hurrle at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Ellen worked as a homemaker raising their 13 children. Ellen was a member of St. Mary's Help of Christians, Christian Mothers, Fairhaven Lions and the Kimball Legion Auxillary post 261. Ellen enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, puzzles, playing cards, dancing and trips to the casino. Ellen also loved traveling with her husband and friends. She will be remembered as a fun loving, hard worker but most of all as a cherished, loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Elwood; children Cindy (Robert) Stelten of Kimball, Karen Ranta of Hutchinson, Sheila (Dick) Erickson of Monticello, Danya Rice of Sartell, Debbie Mertens of Akeley, Lynda (Pat) Mertens of South Haven, Nancy (Kevin) Ruprecht of Watkins, Kevin of South Haven, John (Stella) of Kimball, Mary Sanders of Kimball, Mark (Lynette) of Clearwater, Tom (Shelly) of Annandale, Kathy (Thad) Wills of South Haven; brother, Patrick (Kathy) Sinclair of Lake Elmo; sister, Rose Vecellio of St. Paul; 39 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Mary Heitzig; son in laws, Dean Ranta, and Dennis Rice.
