Mary C. Schlagheck, 88

Waite Park

February 10, 1926 - June 2, 2014

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waite Park for Mary C. Schlagheck, age 88, who passed away Monday. Rev. Mark Innocenti will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud only. Parish prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Mary was born on February 10, 1926 in Little Falls to the late Simon and Agnes (Yanta) Kedrowski. She married Emil Schlagheck on May 29, 1948 at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud. Mary worked in the auditing department at Sears Department Store for 23 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Christian Women.  Mary enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and word finds. She also found joy in knitting, crocheting, sewing and painting. Mary loved to garden; often cooking, baking and canning her own fruits and vegetables. Mary also loved traveling and fishing with her husband, Emil. She had a great sense of humor and was quick- witted. Mary treasured her family and all the time she was able to share with them.

Mary is survived by children, Susan (Harvey) Puchalla of Sauk Rapids, Lois Nelson of Grand Rapids, Sharon (Craig) Sorensen of Anoka; granddaughters, Emily Sorensen, Rebekah (Karl) Berg, Maria Nelson and Julia Nelson; two step-grandchildren, Kim (Robert) Gummert, Terry (Casey) Puchalla; great grandchildren, Asa Berg and soon- to- be- born Baby Berg; five step great grandchildren, Katelyn, Kali, Colton Gummert, Draden and Emmet Puchalla; and sister Dorothy (Carl) Peterson of St. Lucia, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emil on July 5, 2005; son-in-law, David Nelson; brothers, Ray, Joe, George and Hank Kedrowski; sisters, Bernadette Leicht and Jane Abel.

Mary's daughters would like to thank Joanie for everything she did for their mother.
