A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 13 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre for Robert "Bob" Rieland who died peacefully after a short battle with cancer Tuesday surrounded by his family at his home. Rev. Tim Wenzel will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Bob was a retired employee of Central Specialties, formerly Starry Construction.
Survivors include his wife, Ruthann Rieland of Sauk Centre; four children, David Rieland of New Munich, Karen Hall of Waite Park, Nancy (Ron) Lingle of Sauk Centre, and Lori (Kevin) Uphoff of Sauk Centre; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Chuck (Lucy) Rieland of Fridley; sister, Barb (Hunter) Anderson of Cambridge; and sisters-in-law, Barb Rieland and Monica Rieland, both of New Munich.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin, Vernon, and Giles Rieland; sister-in-law, Luella "Lu" Rieland; and son-in-law, Dean Hall.
