Muriel was born April 27, 1936 in Soler Township to Melvin & Ellen (Glad) Melby. She graduated from Greenbush High School. Muriel married Wesley Brenhaug on Aug. 9, 1961 at Oiland Lutheran Church in rural Greenbush. It was a true calling in her life to work with children, as she worked as a daycare provider and mentor to many, changing so many childrens' lives. Muriel was a devout, born again Christian who was confident in her faith. She was a member of Discovery Church where she was very active in the church community, serving as a Sunday School Teacher and on the Missions Committee. Muriel provided for her family by gardening and canning. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and was very talented musically, learning to play the piano by ear alone. Muriel was a very nurturing and encouraging mother. Relatives and friends were also very important to her as she always opened her home to them as they were passing through.
Survivors include her husband, Wes of Sartell; daughter and sons, Mary (Dan) Reasor of Nowthen, Steven (Sara) of Swanville, and Paul (Janna) of Sartell; brother, Gale (Deanna) Melby of Winger; and grandchildren, Alex Reasor, Shelly Brenhaug, Jarred Reasor, Shanna Brenhaug, Nolan Brenhaug, Amanda Reasor, Jake Brenhaug, and Cody Brenhaug. Muriel was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Thoralf Melby, Edward Melby, Dorothy Brinkman, and Harlan Melby.
Memorials are preferred to Discovery Church Missions.
