Virgil R. Seiler, 82

Waite Park, Minnesota

Feb. 10, 1932 ~ Aug. 16, 2014

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Virgil R. Seiler age 82, of Waite Park, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Virgil passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Sterling Care Center in Waite Park.   Private placement of the urn will take place at a later date at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Virgil was born on Februarys 10, 1932 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Walter and Frieda (Retzlaff) Seiler. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Lenore Hesch on August 3, 1957 in Elk River. Virgil worked as a water plant operator for the St. Cloud Water Treatment Plant for 27 years. He was a member of the St. Cloud VFW Post #428.

Virgil enjoyed carpentry, working on cars, he enjoyed fishing and going to the cabin on Garden Lake. Virgil had a love for animals.

Virgil is survived by his, wife Lenore of Waite Park; sons, Douglas of St. Cloud, Donald of Elk River, David of Hanover, Daniel (Nancy) of Harris; and sister and brothers, Patricia, Walter, and Arsine; sister-in-law, Lou; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hurley; sister, Wilma; brother-in-law Richard and great friend Eric Schreiner.
