Requiem Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at St. Robert Bellarmine Traditional Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Stark J. Maynard, 65, of Rice who passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Father Christopher Leith will officiate. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Stark was born on June 25, 1945 in Rochester, Minnesota to Burl and Rose (Rukavina) Maynard. He married Marlene E. Ernst on March 2, 1968 at St. John's Catholic Church in Rochester. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969-1973. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology and Accounting. He moved to St. Cloud in 1978 and worked as an accountant and also sold real estate. Stark was a member of the St. Cloud Knights of Columbus Council #961.

He enjoyed collecting old western movies and television shows.

Stark is survived by his wife, Marlene of Rice; daughter, Marissa (Mitchell) Kirk of Shell Lake, WI; grandson, Christopher Kirk; and aunts, Lucille Kunkel of Buffalo and Eve (Richard) Smith of Edina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, William.

Tridentine Catholic Mass preferred in lieu of flowers.

Stark was a fellow collector and much of my collection came through his efforts and values in preserving classic television. I enjoyed our interactions and send sympathies to his family.
