Alice M. Wick, 95

St. Cloud

January 7, 1917 - June 8, 2012

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Christ Church Newman Center in St. Cloud for Alice M. Wick, 95, of St. Cloud, who died Friday. Rev. Anthony Oelrich will officiate and entombment will be in Assumption Mausoleum. Friends and relatives may call after 9:00am, Tuesday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Alice M. Wick was born on January 7, 1917 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Edward and Alice (Turner) Mead. She married Robert H. Wick on April 25, 1942 in Marshalltown, Iowa. Alice started her career teaching high school business education in Newton, Iowa. The couple moved to St. Cloud in 1948. She was a faculty member in the College of Business at St. Cloud State University. Alice was a member of the St. Cloud Greeters. She was a member of Christ Church Newman Center, Reading Room, and Northstar Commission. Alice served on the Board of Directors for St. Benedict's College, St. Joseph. She served two terms on the St. Cloud City Council. She was also involved in the League of Women Voters and St. Cloud State University Faculty Wives and Women. Alice enjoyed genealogy, bowling, coffee, and conversation. Alice made a difference in the lives of her family, friends, and community. She had friends of all ages.

Alice is survived by her children, Ann Roettger of Wayzata, Dr. Thomas Wick of Mountain View, CA, Dr. William (Marian Brutger) Wick of Blaine; grandchildren, John Roettger, David (Laurie) Wick, Rachel (Eric) Petersen, James Wick; brother, Edward (Janet) Mead of Marshalltown, Iowa; and two great-grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband on March 8, 2006; sister, Mary Elizabeth Kasser; son-in-law, Joseph Roettger.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Cloud State University: Robert and Alice Wick Scholarship Fund.
